Exercise...if you can all it that!

Lucy has been getting a little restless lately and so I thought I would take her out for a run or in her case a walk… if you can even call it that. I was really excited because the weather has been getting nicer and I thought it would be a good way for both of us to get some exercise plus this might actually up my chances of Lucy liking me more than Bryce. I thought I was keeping up a pretty good pace, when I noticed that Lucy was barely even walking. She found it to be more fun to go sniff something for a few minutes and then catch up, but she didn’t have to run very hard. How is that even possible? I knew that I was slow, but I didn’t think I was that slow! I don’t even now that Lucy got any exercise at all, it was more of an adventure for her, however I was exhausted.

So last weekend I decided that since I wasn’t fast enough for her I should take her out with my bike. Lucy loved it!!! Bryce and I took her to a nearby park, and I was amazed with how fast she is. Even on my bike she kicked my butt! It made me wonder about the catch phrase, "it's like riding a bike" (an expression used for something never forgotten). If you would have seen me out there you would have thought it was my first time riding a bike, and I deffinately forgot how tiring and sore it makes you. I had a hard time sitting down for the next couple of days. However I don’t know that it wore Bryce or Lucy out, but we all slept pretty good that night! Lucy loved the park too. She was a little confused with the swings, she couldn’t quite figure the whole thing out she kept chasing me back and then running away terrified when I went forward. We finally realized that she just wanted to swing with us.

we thought if she likes the swings maybe she will like the slides.

I think she hated both of them, but what fun is having a dog if you can't torture it a little?

We also took a football with us. Bryce and I would throw the football to each other and then who ever had the football got tackled. Lucy loved the tackling part. She would run, jump on us, and lick us to death. We all had such a great day, bike riding, picnics, and playing in the park. I'm so thankful that my family tries to keep me healthy and active, because lets be honest I need it!

No Lesbos here!

Lucy is not usually a fan of other dogs. She was not very nice when she was introduced to Duke-a shih Tzu (Bryce's sisters dog), Elvis and Missy- both shih Tzu's (a neighbor's dogs) and Bryan- a boxer (Bryce's cousin's dog). When ever she sees a dog she will run up to it and bark at it. It is so annoying! Bryce and I have had to beat her a few times because of it. I was telling my mom about it, and I told her that even though Lucy is not fixed I don't think that she will ever have puppies because she won't ever let a dog get close enough to her without ripping it's head off. My mom's exact words to all of this were, "I think that Lucy is a lesbo". I loved that my mom said lesbo, but I wondered if dogs could really be gay. I kept thinking that I need to get Lucy more socialized with dogs, and the other day Bryce's brother-in-law's sister came over with her puppy, scooter- a chiweinie (chihuahua, weiner dog mix). He was a pretty cute dog, and I wasn't the only one who thought so. Lucy was doing everything she could to get that dog's attention. I didn't know that I had such a little flirt on my hands. It kind of made me happy to know that Lucy may not be a Lesbian after all. My conclusion is that maybe she is just picky and shih tzu's and big dogs just aren't her type. I got thinking about the whole thing and I don't know why I thought she was a Lesbian in the first place. All of her favorite people are guys (besides me of coarse!) Anytime a there is a guy in the room laying or sitting down she will go sit on them and make her self right at home.

My little lucy is growing up so fast, first she enters womanhood and now she has a boyfriend. I miss the days when she was just my cute little puppy dog.

The most amazing present

Since my last post was a little angry I thought that I should talk about something that makes me happy. In my christmas stocking this year, I got a battery powered toothbrush. (I don't know if someone was trying to give me a hint or what, but Bryce got a toothbrush too) anyways I have always wanted one, and so I finally whipped it out and I am here to say that you haven't really brushed your teeth, unless you have brushed with a battery powered toothbrush! I think that everyone should get one. I can't believe the difference that it makes. I get so excited to brush my teeth, they have never felt so fresh and so clean. I love it! Thanks Santa you always now how to treat me right! Now I just need to cash in on my other Christmas present!

What is the deal?

There have been a few things that have gotten my panties in a twist lately and I thought I should blog about it.

1. Birth Control-I don't understand why it is so expensive. I think that my insurance should have better coverage for preventatives. I mean would they rather pay for birth control or a baby?

2. Accidents during rush hour- If I just worked a 9 hour day, then the last thing that I want to do is spend a few more hours driving home. I know that it is at the end of the day, and we are all tired, but wake up and drive safely so we can all get home at a decent hour!

3. Politics-I hate it when people can't have their own opinion about something, they have to have a democratic opinion, or a republic opinion. It is almost as if people are being brain washed because they have to belong to a certain political party.

4. Gas-Not only do I hate that it is so expensive, but I also hate that as soon as you reach the last quarter of the tank the light goes on, and you have to fill up again. Where does that last quarter of gas go? I know it doesn't take me a quarter of a tank to go to work and then back home, if it did then I would have to fill up every 4 days instead of every two weeks. Seriously what is the deal with that.

5. Gold's Gym-I live a half hour from the nearest gold's gym, so I called them to try to cancel my contract, but all they could say was that they were sorry. The only thing that they can do is freeze my account. What the gay, so you make me sign a two year contract and then if something in life happens in between that period then there is no way you can get out of it? Gold's Gym is full of dirty rotten people and I would advise everyone to find a better gym, that you only have to pay month to month on.

6. Food- I am so sick of all the time and effort that you have to put into eating food. When in the end it is only going to make you fat. I'm sick of buying food, cooking food, eating food, cleaning food, and then having to do it all over again in a couple of hours. I know what you are thinking, Bryce is rubbing off on me, well I guess that you are right. Food and I are just not friends right now, maybe if I got a kitchen I would like food better.

7. Crock pots- Every time I cook something in a crock-pot it ends up burning. I thought the whole point of a crock-pot was to fix it and forget it. I mean I follow the directions on the recipes and I cook everything on low. The only truthful thing about crock pots is it name, it is indeed a crock!

What good is a post without a pic?

I just found my camera and had to update some of my posts with a pic. I think a pic makes a post so much better. Don't you think? I always was more of a picture book reader!!!

Entering Womanhood

My cute little puppy is becoming a woman. I found not so cute little woman marks on the car, on Bryce’s pants, and on my bed the other day. I totally freaked out it was so gross, but luckily I am amazing and I got all her little marks cleaned up. Bryce and I had to buy her puppy diapers. She hates them and is a little demoralized by it. Bryce’s 11 year old nephew asked us why Lucy had to wear diapers and then he said oh I know why, is it because she is not potty trained yet? I looked at Bryce and I said a....….yeah, something like that. I didn't have the heart to tell him about womanhood, I figure once he is in middle school he will learn about it soon enough. But for all of those who aren't 11 here is the 411 on doggy womanhood. It’s called “heat”, and female dogs go through it once or twice a year, which isn’t too bad, but it lasts for 2 weeks. And unlike humans she can only get pregnant when she is in heat. The whole thing is such a pain in the butt! I am so over Lucy being a bitch, and I think that she is too! Poor little Lucy, you will always be my wittle puppy dog.

A new addition to the fam

Her name is Goldie. She was born in 2005, she has a pretty sexy body, she is a fast mover, and every time I am with her she warms me up inside and out. Bryce bought us (and by us I mean me) a new car for his birthday. I am probably the most spoiled person ever, but that is Bryce for ya. He would much rather give presents to others than get presents, which works for me because I love a good present. We traded in our old rusted tin can and bought this golden beauty. She is a Nissan Maxima with only 30,000 miles. My favorite thing about her is she has a heated steering wheel, and heated seats. We were running some errands on the Saturday before Bryce's birthday when all of a sudden Bryce pulls up to Tim Dalhe’s dealership, I was a bit surprised, but Bryce just said that he wanted to do some window shopping. Now many of you know that Saturday was a blizzard not to mention I had a whole in one of my boots and so as we stood outside in snow my socks were getting more and more wet, needless to say I wasn’t exactly thrilled to be out in the storm, but as soon as we test drove her I nuzzled into her cozy leather seat, and thawed my freezing hands on her warm comforting steering wheel. She was such a good ride that I couldn’t help, but fall in love with her, and since it was snowing outside we got her for an amazing deal! 7K off of what she was blue booked at. I always get really excited to drive her, which is good because if we move to Saratoga we will be spending a lot of time together!

Isn't she a beaut!!!

It Doesn't Take a Lot to Get a Boy Excited!

This is the Face of a boy who just got his Birthday wish...

One of Bryce's hobbies is flying remote controlled helicopters, yes he and Bruce Jenner have something in common, but unlike Kris Jenner I support his hobby. As long as he is not flying it when I am engaging myself in one of my hobbies, watching TV. Bryce has been getting pretty good at flying and so for his Birthday he wanted to upgrade and get a bigger helicopter. So we looked around and finally found an amazing deal on ksl.com. When the guy brought out the helicopter, I was like holly crap that is ginormous! It is so big that it has an engine that requires gasoline, and Bryce told me that there is a decapitation warning on it. Needless to say it is a pretty serious helicopter! Bryce has spent every minute that he can playing with his heli. I was telling my boss about it and how Bryce has been like a little boy on Christmas day, he is so excited about the whole thing, and my boss response was, "ya it doesn't take a lot to get a boy excited". Even though Bryce's birthday was a month ago. I liked my bosses quote so much I thought I should blog about it.

Bryce did a really good job. The guy who was teaching him said that he was a lot better than most guys that start flying, and that he was probably as good as guys that have been flying for 6 months.
Even Lucy liked watching Bryce fly, but she was a little jealous that her papa's new toy cost more than her life.

Happy Birthday Sweets! I love it when you get excited!

Easter Weekend

Celebrating our first Easter together as a married couple was fun. On Saturday night we went to Bryce’s family’s house. We had dinner and then an Easter egg hunt. Kids went home with bigger bags of candy then they get at Halloween. After the hunt the guys went to priesthood while the girls stayed with the kids and dyed Easter eggs. By the time it was finally time for us to go home. Bryce had realized he had forgotten to go shopping for my Easter basket. It was sweet of him to want to make me a basket, but I kind of had the mentality damned if you do and damned if you don’t. He was such a guy about the whole thing shopping last minute. We both hid our baskets from each other and the next morning we had to find them. I love every minute of it. Celebrating holidays with Bryce is so much fun. I am glad that he loves doing all the kid things as much as I do, and it turned out that my last minute basket was pretty great!

The race is on!!!!

You better be findin some good stuff!

I know I did...Nice butt!!!

We spent the rest of the day with both of our families watching conference, which I absolutely loved. I couldn’t pick out my favorite talk, but here is a recap of some of the things that stuck with me the most.

Pres. Monson- I loved the way he started off conference talking about his wife, they have such a cute love story. It is such as testimony to me that missionaries are called to a certain mission, and that it is not the luck of the draw. I also loved his talk on Jesus and Resurrection. I loved the story about the brothers who were both called to serve a mission one here on earth and the over in heaven.
Elder Packers- I loved his talk on the role of a father and his priesthood power. It really strengthening my testimony of how special a father is, and the keys he holds to preside over his family. A father’s blessing is one of the most special blessings that we can receive. I turned to Bryce after that talk was given and I said, “ that talk makes me like you”
Elder Ballard- I loved it when he talked about Primary teachers. He said that a smart bishop will put some of his strongest members in the primary. I guess I liked that because when I got called into the primary for the second time it made me want to cry. I couldn’t even talk about it for a week, but after hearing Elder Ballard speak made me think that instead of feeling sorry for myself, I should feel honored, and I should strive to be a stronger member of the church for these little youngsters, and maybe when I have my own kids I will be blessed to know how to teach them the gospel. He made primary sound so important. I need to have that same attitude!
Elder Perry- I loved his talk on the role of motherhood. The mother’s responsibility is to teach her children both secular and spiritual. School and Church should just reiterate what is being taught in the home. It made me think that I need to prepare now, so that I may be able to teach my children to read and learn from the scriptures.
Elder Foster- his talk was similar to Elder Perry’s, but I liked the story he told about a boy who had been taught by his mother, what a great responsibility we have as woman to teach and nurture our children.

Watching conference with our families was such a great way to celebrate Easter! I always get a little sad when conference is over. I loved hearing all the talks about families. I can’t wait until the ensign comes out with all these talks to I can feast upon its words and teachings sent from our Heavenly Father. I am so thankful for the atoning sacrifice of our Savior that made it possible for us to be with our families forever.

He's alive!!!

My brother Stuart has been in Iraq (as far as we know) for the past year. The last any of us heard from him is when he visited us in August right before Bryce and I got married, but I guess that no news is good news right? Well today I just got an IM from his ex-girl friend, who also happens to be Bryce's sister. She told me that she just heard from Stu and that he is safe and coming back home to Washington right now! I called my mom right away and she just said, oh I know I got the same e-mail....well at least I have Julie informing me about my brother! Stu- I am so glad that you are coming home, and that you are safe! I hope that we will get to see you soon. I love you so much!!!

Isn't it ironic...don't you think?

This is my rendition of the song ironic, by Alanis Morissette

A young girl who has dieted for weeks
Steps onto the scale, but hasn’t lost a thing
Buying a new car and then noticing a ding
The girl at work, who thinks it’s YOU that reeks
Isn’t it ironic… don’t you think?

It’s like rain, after washing your car
You don’t drink, but there is an open bar
You only need one thing, but you still have to wait
These are the things that I really do hate!

Always late to work, but got up early one day
And all the patients canceled wondered if it’s okay
Getting blamed for others dumb mistakes
and thought to myself… what a bunch of flakes
and isn’t it ironic… don’t you think?

There’s a traffic Jam when you are already late
And snow falling down on your spring break
You’ve done ten thousand things, but only a minute’s gone by,
And yet when your sleeping the time seems to fly
Seriously, isn’t that ironic… don’t you think

It’s like meeting your out of pocket at the end of the year,
Or dated a nice guy that ends up a quir
It’s finally finishing your paper, but forgetting to save
And hearing that someone hates a present, one that you gave

Isn’t my life ironic… don’t you think,
a little too ironic… and yeah Alanis, I really do think!!!

A Not So Funny April Fools Joke

I looked out the window and what did I see? 5 inches of snow staring back at me. Spring has brought me a big surprise, snow falling down right before my eyes. I was thinking that maybe the weather is playing an April Fools joke on me, but it just keeps snowing. I was planning on getting my bike out and dusting of our tennis rackets, but it appears that spring isn't quite bloomin yet :(

In the spirit of April Fools day I was thinking about posting that I was prego on here, but I couldn't do it, even if it is just a joke, because the truth of the matter is that if I were pregnant I would be devastated, and it's just not that funny of a joke. But here is some truth for you. When holidays come around it makes me excited about the future, and having kids of my own to celebrate the holidays and start our own traditions! The older that I get the more I love to celebrate the holidays. I think you kind of go through a cycle. When you are young holidays are so much fun they are filled with hope and magic, and then the when you are older you find out the bitter truths of life, the magic is gone and holidays just aren't quite the same, but as you get older it is your turn to create the magic again. It saddens me to see parents take that away from their kids, and I think that they are missing out too. I love the spirit of holidays! From New Year's to Christmas. I love them all. Even the small ones like MLK day. I want to start a tradition to visit my BCF every year. Today I am going to get started and make Bryce an Easter basket, and I can't wait. It might be cheap, but magical none the less!
