Heber

I wasn’t supper excited for this vacation because being pregnant and boating doesn’t exactly sound like a fun time, especially when no one knows that you are pregnant. We got up there on Thursday night, so we could get all the cleaning done on Friday morning and have the rest of the time to relax. I wasn’t really excited about the cleaning part either to be totally honest, but sometimes you do what you gotta do and going up early entitled Bryce and I to a bed, which I thought was defiantly worth it. I tried not to be too obvious, but I think Margo could tell something was up. She kept asking me if I was alright, which actually I felt better than I had been feeling for a while. I was just really tired and wasn’t really helpful when it came to cooking time. The boating wasn’t too hard on me either, and I actually liked getting out in the water, but I hated being lame and lying about it. I would say all and all it was a pretty fun vaca.

A 24th of July to remember

I had calculated my cycle wrong, and I thought I was about 3 days late, but it turned out that I was 7, it wasn’t until I started feeling a little weird that I decided to take some action, which was to tell Bryce. I wanted to warn him before I pulled out the big gun. I deal with things better that way, but Bryce is a little different. I pulled this card on him before, so thinking that I was probably just being overly dramatic, he really didn’t say a lot about the whole thing. I told him that I thought I needed to take a pregnancy test, but I just wanted to let him know first. We weren’t exactly planning this, and I thought if I took the test and was 100% sure that I was pregnant then it might be a little overwhelming. Still not showing any emotions either way he said okay. I wasn’t sure I was ready to face reality, so I let a few more days pass by, but there was still no sign of a period. The only sign I was getting was that the smell of grass in the morning made me want to puke (Not exactly the sign I was looking for). A couple of days later I was throwing a bridal shower for my friend and I had to pick of few things up at all a dollar, so I decided to grab a few prego tests while I was there. I came home and told Bryce that I bought something for us, and I pulled out the pregnancy test. I am not sure if that turned him on or what, all I know is that if I was pregnant before I might have been later that night. Needless to say we didn’t get around to taking the test that night. The next night after the bridal shower Bryce called and told me that his mom wanted us to camp out down town so we could have a good spot for the 24th of July Parade. I was a little hesitant first of all I was exhausted all I cared about was going to sleep and second of all I was feeling a little queasy. But Bryce stopped at a gas station before we got there and bought me a huge sprite so that made me feel a little better about life until we got there and I realized that there is no where to go pee. Brooke informed me that there were out houses at the end of the street. I just looked at her with big eyes, and she said don’t worry they don’t smell that bad. Well that may be true to a normal person, but to a possible prego person everything smells bad and therefore makes you want to puke. Not to mention that I have to pee like every hour and now that I just drank that huge sprite probably every 30minutes. Anyways I survived through the night, but I was anxious for the parade to end so we could go home the next morning. When it finally ended we went to Jades house for some slip and slide action. (Great something that I can’t do, and don’t want to explain to people why I can’t do it) I hate being a party pooper, but all I really wanted to do was go home and go to bed. When we went home Bryce asked me why I was being so lame and I told him that I just wasn’t feeling really good and I didn’t think that going on a slip and slide was the best thing for me right now especially since I don’t really know the rules when you are pregnant, and I just wanted to play it safe until I knew one way or the other. He looked at me and asked me if I had taken the test yet. I told him that I wanted to wait until he was ready so that he would be there with me when I found out the results. He gave me a really confused look, which confused me a little. I reinsured him that he didn’t need to hold the stick for me while I peed on it I just wanted to find out the results together. Once again he didn’t really say anything, so I decided to once again take measures into my own hands. The next day he woke me up so that I could take him to work since we left my car at his mom’s house the night before. As soon as I got home I went right back to bed until little Tommy was at the foot of my bed and said Candice are you awake cuz Bryce wants you to call him. I looked at the clock and noticed that I was late to church. Debating if I should hurry and get ready for church or call Bryce I sat in my bed for a minute and then decided to take the pregnancy test. The first one read clear as day... positive, so I decided to take another one...positive, umm maybe one more just to be sure…positive.

I decided that I was going to wait for Bryce to come from work to tell him the news, because I didn’t want to distract him at work. So I decided that I would call Bryce and then get ready for church so I could at least make it to the second hour. However Bryce only called to inform me that church was only going to be an hour that day because they were redoing the gym and it was pretty strong smelling in there. I got a little emotional and said dang it I am going to be a bad mom already. I didn’t know if Bryce was going to catch on to what I was saying since he seemed to be pretty unresponsive every other time I told him that I thought I was pregnant, but he caught on pretty quick and said "REALLY!!". I just sat there. He asked again, but now I couldn’t talk because I was crying. I somehow muffled out a um hm. I was expecting to get Bryce’s famous question, “are you crying?” but this time is was "sweetheart why are you crying?" I wasn’t sure what kind of a reaction I was going to get out of him, but I am glad he came through in the end. He even cheered me up a little. I told him that I was just a little overwhelmed. He encouraged me that everything would be alright, but that I needed to stop crying or he would tell the baby that I didn’t want it. I guess I shouldn’t be worried that if we are going to be good parents, because that right there tells me that we are going to be AWESOME parents!

So there is my story of how Bryce knocked me up. I guess my big news wasn’t quite like the one on the commercial!

WTF!!!

side note: I use to get so annoyed when people would use these acronyms they are so ridiculous, but me and my friend at work started saying them one day to make fun of them, and haven't been able stop, and I totally think that this one fits my post

So the other day Bryce and I were at Stihl's Baseball game. I had Lucy on my lap and it was pretty hot so she was shedding all over me. I looked down and there was a big white hair on my hair and so I went to grab it and it was stuck. This hair that I thought was maybe 2 inches turned out to be 14 inches. Either Lucy had one 14 inch hair or I just found my first grey hair. WTF I am way to young to get my first grey hair. Bryce thought that was hilarious. I am betting that I would be able to find one in his head, but he is supporting the shaved look right now, so that is yet to be determined. I wanted to go home right away and dye my hair that night!

Sometimes 26-year-old little boys are silly

So I normally try not to throw Bryce under the bus when I blog, but I have to do it just this once. It is too funny of a story. So Bryce called the boys up the other day to see if they could have a sleepover. We had a 12-year old, 3 10-year-olds, 2 4-year-olds, and a 3-year-old with us. Not to mention Bryce the 26-year-old little boy. That equals 8 boys, which equals craziness! Their favorite thing to play is Nerf gun fights. We split into 2 teams and build amazing forts with all of the blanket that we can find. The only problem was I had to get up early in the morning the next day, our conversation went a little like this:

Candice:I have to go to work tomorrow really early in the morning, so I will probably have to quit playing nerf gun fights at 10:30 (Do I sound like my mom or what hahaha I just noticed that!)
Bryce: Okay that is fine, but what does that have to do with us playing Nerf guns?
Candice: Well I will probably want to go to sleep with the sheets back on my bed.
Bryce: Really?
Candice: (with a funny look on my face) Never mind that's fine (If a girl says that's fine, then you know you are in trouble)
Bryce: What's wrong? Are you mad?
Candice: No I'm fine, I guess it is not that big of a deal (to YOU!!!)(girls always have hidden words in what we are saying)

We left the room after that to go set up our forts

Bryce: Alright boys lets set up our forts
Colton: Come on La La lets set our fort before Candice has to go to bed
Braxton: Why do we have to set up our forts before Candice goes to bed?
Colton: (a little annoyed at Braxton's question) Because we will have to take them down, so Candice can get a good nights rest
Candice: (in a really loud voice)Colton that is so considerate of you, but you guys can keep playing when I go to bed.
Bryce: ...(speachless just shaking his head smiling foolishly)
Candice: (Laughing histerically) Don't worry Bryce it is okay that 12 year old boy is more considerate than a 26year old man
Bryce: (Charging at me to wrestle me to the ground)

Bear Lake

The year's Bear Lake trip was highly eventful. On our way up there Thursday night Brian's car engine blew. He was about 1/2 hour ahead of us and maybe 10min away from the trailer. He didn't have any cell reception either, but lucky Bryce is amazing and spotted them on the side of the road...if you can call it that. There wasn't much of a side of the road so we had to push his car a little ways up the canyon where we could get it out of traffic. We decided to leave it there since it was after 11 and we would have some one tow it in the morning. We were all pretty tired when we finally arrived and got unpacked, so we just headed straight to bed the next morning my mom made us Swedish pancakes for breakfast afterward we talked to a mechanic and then headed off to the lake. I wasn't sure if my family would like the boat, but it was a pretty good time. The water was really calm, so Brian started things off on the wakeboard. He said that he hadn't wakeboarded for years, but you never would have guess. All of my brothers are so naturally athleticlike father like daughter. Kaci also did really good on the wakeboard she can even get out the wake. I also got out on the wakeboard, but by the time someone thought to take my picture, the pressure was on and I couldn't get up anymore. I was getting more comfortable with getting up and everything, and I did pretty good until I got close to the wake and then I would just scream. Kaci must have motivated Faith to get out there too, because she wanted to try wakeboardingBut she had a hard time turning to face the boat, so Bryce got out there to help her. I think it scared her more than anything. She didn't want to get back in the water after that. So we headed off to find some beach. There wasn't any beach where we normally go this year because the water level was so high, so we went clear across the lake to the east side and found a really good spot right next to the boy scout camp. That was probably my mom and faith's favorite part of the trip as soon as we got out of the boat they went looking for rocks. Bryce wasn't thrilled about them bringing rocks back on the boat or in is truck, but he was a good sport about it. It rained on us going back across the lake to get to the Marina. It was freezing!!! But We found ways to stay warm.

The next day all of us were really sore, but that couldn't stop us both Faith and my mom got up the courage and got on the wienie! They weren't too sure about it at first, but Bryce promised he would go slow it looked like they were having a good time...Faith even got a little daring, but as soon as Bryce went a little fast she was ready to get off!!! Next it was Bryce and Kaci's turn. They were so entertaining. Bryce was teaching Kaci all sorts of tricks going backwards, riding on the side, playing leap frog, no hands, etc. I thought they were going to be out there all day, but with one crash things ended pretty abruptly. Bryce went flying through the air and hit Kaci in the hip with his head and got a concussion.
Lucy was happy to be done of boating

and Brian was happy that he caught a butterfly
Except for a minor concussion and a car engine blowing up we had a pretty fun trip!!!

4th of July- The 3 day holiday

On Saturday Bryce was suppose to work, but he ended up getting put on call. Which was good because this 4th of July was full of parade madness! The Lord commanded Margo to go and built a float along with 7-8 other people who knew nothing about building floats. None of us really knew what to expect, but they did an amazing job. The first parade we went to was the Murray Parade. We anxiously sat waiting for Margo's float to arrive It was pretty exciting. Margo was so excited that she started crying before the float even got there. Bryce being Bryce turned to her and said, "Are you really crying about a float?" Their float was the best one out there!

Now on to West Jordan for parade #2
The candy kept some of us happy for a little while
Others were entertained by the naked lady across the street
but by the end we were all pretty tired, not even the candy could get us excited anymore

Later that day we went boating at Utah lake with Jade and Kit. The wind was blowing pretty hard which meant lots of waves which meant a fun tube ride!

Sunday we went to Megan's house to watch their firework show. Houses didn't burn down like we were expecting, but it was a pretty good show.

Monday my mom and I had the day off so we went to see the new movie Twilight. I wasn't sure about it since I couldn't even remember what the book was about, but I loved it! Afterwards we went shopping and I got some new flip flops. Bryce and I made a deal that if he got a Nerf gun then I would get some new shoes.

I didn't know if I would like have the 4th of July on a Sunday, but it ended up being better than I expected because we got to celebrate for 3 days- that's my kind of holiday!!!
