If You Give Candice a Cookie...

Beware this isn't a children's story, it is a horror story!!!

If you give Candice a cookie the chances are it will be so yummy that she will probably want another one, then she will get thirsty and need a glass of milk, but the cravings won't stop there she will want something salty afterwards to balance out the sweet, and since she has been so naughty she probably won't want to work out, so she'll probably just sit in her room a little depressed, and then she will eat another cookie

At least the mouse was a little more proactive when he got a cookie.

So I guess the moral of this story is if you give me a cookie, then you might create a monster

The Results are In!

At the beginning of the month I made the goal to go the whole month without sweets or chips. Okay so I only last for about 2 weeks, but I did learn some good lessons. I noticed that workingout made me want to eat healthier and eating junk food made me want to eat more junk food. So if you are trying to eat healthy and you are craving something that might turn you into a monster then you should go on a quick little run or something and you will want water and fresh fruit and veggies. I wasn't even counting my calories all I wanted was to stay away from chips and sweets, but exercise and making healthier choices made me want to do it more and more, and then I ate something fried and gross and it was all down hill from there. The good news is I lost 6lbs in those 2 weeks, the bad news is I think I gained it back in these last two weeks.

Chipoholics Anonymous (CA)

Hi my name is Candice and I am a chipoholic. I have been clean for about 2 weeks now. It wasn't too hard at first, but I have been to a few parties lately and it seems like everywhere I turn there are chips, and everyone is indulging themselves in it having the time of their lives. I haven't slipped up yet, but I have wanted to. I know that this is the time to be strong, and if I can stay clean at these parties then I will be able to stay clean for the rest of the month. For anyone else out there who is a chipoholic just know that you are not alone

It's the most wonderful time of the year

If you are sensing my sarcasm that is because swimsuit season is just around the river bend, unless you are Pocahontas and you wear bearskin dresses, but if you are anything like me, that can be a little scary not only because my skin is glow in the dark, but also because of the layer of insulation that I put on during the winter to keep me warm. well it’s my last chance to get rid of those layers before we hit swimsuit season. I have been feeling really bad for myself lately because of my living situation. I came to Bryce one day nearly in tears and told him that living here was making me fat (you know you are fat when you can blame everything, but yourself for the choices that you make) Bryce said well are you exercising? (don't ya just love it when guys give you advice that you just don't want to hear, especially because they are totally right) So my goal this month is to turn the beat around, and since I be lovin the bike so much. I am going to ride the bike for 20min 6x a week, do a workout tape 3x a week, and lay off on all sweets, soda, and chips (my #1 weakness) I don’t need a fridge for those things, so at least I won’t have that excuse. And the great thing about my job is not only do I get to spend all day blogging, but we also have a gym, so I can get 20min of exercise in at lunch! It's all about babysteps this month, and maybe next month I will have enough motivation to get into it full throttle. Wish me luck!!!

My new BFFs

As many of you may know, marriage and dieting do not mix. I have gained some weight since the whole marriage thing…well since dating Bryce actually. It can be challenging to be married to a skinny guy with a fat personality, not to mention living arrangements have taken its toll on me as well. Our kitchen consists of a mini fridge, microwave, fry pan, crock-pot, and our new appliance a hotplate, which has made things a little easier the only problem, is that we can only use one appliance at a time because of the electrical circuit. But things have been getting better thanks to my new BFF’s, without them things could be getting ugly. Let me introduce you to them.

1.My new Jordan Valley Hospital mug- She can hold up to approximately 30oz of water, and she has the most amazing straw, which has made it so much easier for me to get my recommended daily amount of water. Although she quite literally makes me want to pee my pants every half hour, she makes me feel healthy. Cheers to you JVH mug!

2.Fruit smoothies- Although Bryce usually doesn’t care for things that are too fruity, He loves her. All you need is a pkg. of your favorite frozen fruit, some milk and whalah. Not only do you get some yummy servings of fruit, but she doesn’t take up a lot of room in our mini fridge. I think that everyone could use a gay friend like her.

3.Laughing cow cream cheese- She has a great sense of humor! I like to use her for my sandwiches. She is only 35cal per wedge, but I only use about 1/3 of a wedge. She is a great replacement for both mayo and cheese. She saves me almost 200cal and she is so tasty!

4.Peanut butter- She is a great time! Although she is kind of a fatty, I only use about 1 Tbs of her paired with a banana, which is a great balance of carbs and protein, and can help you feeling fuel and satisfied.

5.Workout tapes- She is my workout buddy. I love not having to go to the gym to get a good workout, which is good since right now I don’t really have that choice. She only takes 20min out of my day, and you don’t need all that heavy equipment. She has taught me that you can feel a burn just going back to the basics

6.Last but not least the reality TV series the biggest loser- I enjoy hanging out with her for 2hours every week. She is such a good motivator, and quite entertaining I might add! I only wish I could hangout with her more often.

So there you have it my new BFF’s. Aren’t they great? They helped my lose 5lbs this week!

The 6 month inch

So being a newlywed everyones favorite question is, "So how do you like married life". Well honestly for me it wasn't that much different then dating life. I have known Bryce my whole life. So really marriage has only made our relationship stronger....and fatter.

As previously stated I have married for 6 months now and I since then I have grown a little, meaning I had to dust off my fat pants, the ones that I promised myself that I would never have to wear again. So here we go again.I hoped on the scale this morning and I noticed that I have lost 2 lbs. I was feeling really motivated and decided to plop open my scripts when Bryce came home from work with a handful of groceries. He greeted me with a kiss and said, "I'm making breakfast today!" How cute is he!?! I couldn't help, but smile, until I saw what he had brought home. He started pulling eggs, hash browns, English muffins, sausages, cheese, orange juice...Aka a dieters worst nightmare! I finally had to say something when he got out the butter and cut off 2 Tbs to put on his English muffin. Although my husband might not be the most helpful when dieting. He is kind of the sweetest thing ever!!! I love him, I just hope that he loves me fat, because I am blaming it all on him!
