Dandelions

I remember when I was a young girl, my mom and I were driving home from my grandma's house, where I usually got babysat. I was in a particularly grumpy mood that day and probably letting all of my anger out on my mom, so she pulled the car to the side of the rode and picked a dandelion for me. She told me that they were magical and if I blew on it then I could make a wish, and it would come true. I was a little skeptical, but I knew that my mom would never lie to me, so I did as she suggested. Afterward she asked me what I wished for, I told her that I wished that I could fly. She looked at me and with a grin on her face she picked me up in her arms and twirled me around and around, until we both fell to the ground laughing. Throughout my whole life my mother has always helped me in everyway she can to pursue my dreams and wishes, even if they are as silly as wanting to be able to fly. I will never forget the day that I got married. I was standing in front of a mirror at the temple with my wedding dress on and my mother standing next to me. I knew that it was her love, her teachings, and her support that helped me set a goal when I was young to be married in the temple, and as I got older she encourage me to accomplish that goal. I am so thankful for her and for her eternal influences in my life. I am also thankful to be married in the temple that I might live with my family not only in this life, but in the eternities as well.

Happy Mothers Day, Mom. I Love You!!!

A Contribute to Mothers

I have found a few quotes from our prophets about mothers and I couldn't help but to be thankful for the mothers that have blessed my life, and whose character exemplifies that of what our prophets have said about mothers. To my mother, my mother-in-law, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, cousins, and friends these quotes are for you. Thank you so much for your love, service, and the example you are to me. Happy mothers day!!!

A mother’s unqualified love approaches Christlike love –President Thomas S. Monson

Thank the Lord for mothers who—like our Heavenly Father—love us not only for what we are but for what we may become. –Elder Russell M. Nelson

“Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels – Elder Russell M. Nelson

To help another human being reach one’s celestial potential is part of the divine mission of woman. As mother, teacher, or nurturing saint, she molds living clay to the shape of her hopes. In partnership with God, her divine mission is to help spirits live and souls be lifted. This is the measure of her creation. It is ennobling, edifying, and exalting. –Elder Russell M. Nelson

One cannot forget mother and remember God. One cannot remember mother and forget God. Why? Because these two sacred persons, God and mother, partners in creation, in love, in sacrifice, in service, are as one.- President Thomas S. Monson

I affirm my profound belief that God’s greatest creation is womanhood. I also believe that there is no greater good in all the world than motherhood. The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation. –Elder James E. Faust

“… I think you will agree with me that seldom may be found in this world a great man who did not have a great mother.” – President George Albert Smith

Spiritually, morally, religiously, and in faith, what man can match a woman who is really converted to the gospel! –Elder Hugh B. Brown

Father is the head, but Mother is the heart of the family home. –President Herold B. Lee

“When you teach a boy, you teach an individual, but when you teach a girl, you teach a whole generation.”–Elder Russell M. Nelson

“Without the devotion and absolute testimony of the living God in the hearts of our mothers, this Church would die.” –President Heber J. Grant

Dating again!!!

Not me! thank goodness that is over with. Dating can be such a nightmare. When I was in college I finally reached a point where if I wasn’t that into a guy after the first date. I just told them no on the second. I was so sick of dating I think I might have even told Bryce no a few times. My mom just went on her second date a few weeks ago. After her first date, to a guy in my ward that was old enough to be her father. I felt it necessary to put some guidelines out for my mom. Since she was new at this and I was just ridding myself of that lifestyle.

Rule #1 don’t date a guy that is old enough to be your father. I know that it may seem that when you are older age doesn’t really matter, but that is a myth. Age does still matter I will give her a 10year age gap older or younger ( I know there are slim pickin’s out there, after all my mom and dad were 8 years apart)
Rule #2 don’t date anyone in the ward. I am the only person that is allowed to do that!
Rule #3 don’t sell yourself short! Stay away from weirdos and guys with too much baggage.
My mom’s second date was a lot better than the first, but she could still do better. She met this guy through a one of the girls in her grief group. It was her dad, her mom had just committed suicide. Although I feel sorry for this family, this guy might have too much baggage. That is a rough thing to deal with.

Mom I want to let you know how strong and amazing I think you are. I am so proud of you and how far you have come! I can’t even imagine how hard it must be for you to lose your husband especially loosing him on you wedding anniversary. I think that it is great that you are dating, and I will support you in any road that you follow.

Ps. Your hair looks great dyed brown! You are too young to think that you have to go gray already!!!
